Duct(s) is cleaned from the top to the bottom. This will include all bends and horizontal runs. High pressure nozzles, spinners, and manual scraping is employed to accomplish complete cleaning. Horizontal runs (if in excess of NFPA standards) will have access panels. These access panels will be removed to ensure cleanliness of the system. If required access panels are not present, this will be documented on the inspection sheet provided. NFPA-96 states that “Exhaust fans with ductwork connected to both side shall have access for cleaning and inspection within 0.92m (3ft) of each side of the fan.” Chap 7 section 3.7 2001 edition.
